Speaking to French television program Telefoot, Angers boss Stephane Moulin has confirmed that winger Abdoul Camara is set to join Derby County this month.
“Camara should be the last departure,” said the manager on Sunday.” Sitting third in Ligue 1, Angers have been one of the surprise packages this season, and although disappointed to lose another starter, it would mean that both Romain Thomas and Cheikh N’Doye would remain at the club.
Camara has scored twice in his 17 appearances this season. Playing on the left of Moulin’s 4-3-3, he has impressed with his work-rate and ability to not only attack down the flank, but help protect the defence down the channels.
His highlight of the season came against away at Toulouse. Cutting in from the right, he skipped past two defenders before his left-foot strike found the bottom corner.
There is no doubt he has the pace, dribbling ability and strength to make an impact in the English leagues.
NORWICH CITY COULD MISS OUT ON MARSEILLE MAN
As we reported earlier this week, Nicolas N’Koulou has been linked with a move to Norwich City, but according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Marseille defender has already reached an agreement with Serie A club Lazio to join the Italians in the summer.
The Rome side would like him to sign in January, but they have been told that they would need to pay €8 million, a sum that apparently has put off Sporting Director Igil Tare.
CARLOS MANE A TARGET FOR MARSEILLE
French newspaper La Provence are suggesting that Marseille are interested in making a move for Sporting Lisbon striker Carlos Mane this month.
It could be that the Portuguese forward is an alternative if OM fail to sign Wissam Ben Yedder from Toulouse.
The 21-year-old has only made five appearances for Sporting this season, scoring just once. If a €9 million bid has already been rejected by the Liga Sagres side, it would be a huge risk for OM to up the bid on a player with so little experience.
