Earlier in the January transfer window, Angers SCO’s Jonathan Kodjia had been linked with a move to Lorient in Ligue 1, but now Foot Mercato are reporting that the 25-year-old is a target for Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League and Championship side Cardiff City.

Having scored 12 goals in France’s second-tier so far this season, the centre-forward has caused quite a stir, with scouts making their way to the Stade Jean-Bouin to get a glimpse of the striker.

Angers recently lost Kodjia’s teammate, Sofiane Boufal, to Ligue 1 side Lille earlier in the transfer window, and it now appears that the attacking-midfielder may not be their sole departing player in January.

Kodjia is a skilful, strong and pacey lone front-man, his style and physique would adjust well to the English game. He is definitely equipped to follow in the footsteps of West Ham United centre-forward Diafra Sakho, by making the jump from Ligue 2 success to playing in the Premier League.

Blessed with both pace and height, the two-footed striker is as capable of taking on players when cutting in off the wing, as he is as playing as a target man.

The former Stade de Reims and SM Caen attacker is under contract with his current club until 2016, so now could be perfect time for Stéphane Moulin’s side to cash in on their number 22 and take full advantage of Premier League interest.
